The last time I blogged (waaaaaaaaaay back in 2012) I introduced you to my new wedding album range so for my first post of 2013 I thought I’d continue along the same lines and bring you even more newness! My previous website launched in 2007 had been showcasing my imagery for the past five years and did so in some style. However times have moved on! Truth is it was slow, didn’t work on almost all smartphone and tablet devices, and much like my old wedding album range was looking dated and out of touch with my current brand of photography. It was time for change. Deciding on the look of the new site and putting it all together was a time consuming, head scratching exercise that almost broke me! It took me weeks just to write the ‘About’ section but the less said about that the better! I must send out a HUGE thanks to Bryan at 22Slides.com for providing such brilliant support and solving many technical difficulties along the way! I still have some tweaking to do and I’ll be adding new imagery but I’m happy (and relieved!) to say it’s now live!
So DRUM ROLL PLEASE…. Introducing to you my smartphone friendly, tablet friendly, sleek & modern (fireworks going off everywhere!) ALL…. NEW…. WEBSITE!!!!!

After many hours of research and sleepless nights (I kid you not!) I’m happy to announce the introduction of my new album range!
The previous album range I offered were beginning to look dated and out of touch with my brand of photography. I wanted to offer my couples something that was sleek and modern, classy, timeless and exuded quality. It proved far more difficult then I had anticipated and combined with the perfectionist in me you understand why there were sleepless nights! The breakthrough came at the biggest trade show in the UK earlier this year. It was the perfect opportunity to get touchy-feely with the many albums available and I managed to narrow it down to two manufacturers. The final decision I couldn’t make alone so I drafted in the help of two female friends who became my focus group. Both unanimously voted in favour of the new albums and as they say history was made! YES it was that big a deal for me! My swanky new sample albums along with a host of exciting new additions were all on display at last weeks Alternative Wedding Show and they impressed everyone who lay eyes on them! BIG sigh of relief then; I can now rest easy again at night!
This weekend I’ll be displaying at the Alternative Wedding Fayre organised by friends of mine. Admittedly I’m not usually attracted to the concept of the wedding fayre/show but this one is the first of it’s kind in Birmingham and as it’s name suggests is an alternative to other events that cater to the mainstream. It will be serving up exhibitors offering the unusual, different, distinctive and unique and are inclusive of ethnic audiences. Count me in!!! Now not one to do things by half I set about planning and designing my stand, although, in true last minute fashion this process begun just a few days ago! Not quite panic stations but certainly a case of cutting it fine! Ikea has been a close ally and a source of inspiration having visited my local store no less than three times this week already! If I have to return again I may just move in and put some of their fancy displays to practical use!
The collage above shows some ingredients that when blended together will hopefully help produce a stand that will WOO the brides this Sunday. At least that’s the plan!
Hope you can make it!
So here it is in all it’s glory! I had such a great response from everyone who visited my stand on Sunday and indeed wooed lots of brides! Thank you all for stopping by and for your wonderful feedback! There was a great vibe and energy which made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one which will ensure I sign up for next years show which promises to be even better! I want to send out a special thanks to my housemate Jason and my brother Lutalo (two of my biggest supporters!) who helped make it happen and my dear friend Nicky who worked the stand with me on the day and was a supa-dupa-star! She was the perfect team mate and wore the perfect colour dress too! Finally, congratulations to Daniella, Tru and the Aspire4U team for putting on a successful show, see you next year!
Rain, sunshine, thunder, hail, wind, more rain, sunshine, no wait, it’s raining again now! It’s not much fun going outside here in the UK at the moment as we are being forced to play Russian roulette with the weather. The forecast is much brighter indoors where I plan on staying until the weather stops playing it’s mind games. A shame I agree but the upside is I get to spend more time here sharing and updating. I also get time to do a little tweaking so you’ll now notice a row of fancy buttons at the end of each post giving you the options to share what you’ve read via Facebook, Twitter and Google+. You can now also ‘Pin’ my images (if you have a Pinterest account). Just trying my best to keep up with the times! So back to sharing now, here is are a few images from the wedding of Dionne and Christopher with a little edginess thrown in….
I’m am so excited to have the wedding of Buki and Daniel recently featured on ‘My Wedding Nigeria’! I LOVE African weddings both here in the UK and on the continent and have so far had the huge privilege of photographing weddings in Ghana and Uganda. I have an aching desire to shoot a wedding in Nigeria (that’s a massive hint to all those couples planning on getting married there who may be reading this!) it is after all the origin of my name ‘Bandele’ which translated into English simply means ‘born away from home’.
